Genesis Birth Center Branding

Client: Genesis Birth Center

My role: Logo design, brand development, copywriting, graphic design

Genesis Birth Center, a new facility opening in Puyallup, seeks to bridge the gap between the privacy and comfort of a home and the safety and security of a hospital. They needed a logo and brand identity to represent this unique perspective on childbirth.

I built the GBC logo on sacred geometry and combined imagery from a lotus flower, a sunrise, a wave of water, a koru (a Māori symbol representing new life spiraling out from an origin point), and the figure of a pregnant woman. The nature-inspired color palette grounds the heady symbolism to Mother Earth, with the bright sunrise accent color representing the first golden hour with a new baby. I also deconstructed the logo into three mandala sub-symbols to differentiate the three private birthing suites.
